Just over two weeks after Alex Fingers, former principal of Cross Timbers Middle School, was named the Grapevine High School principal, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD has hired his replacement.

"Thank you so much to Alex Fingers for his fantastic service as the principal at Cross Timbers Middle School, and we also again want to wish him good luck as he begins his tenure at Grapevine High School," GCISD Superintendent Robin Ryan said at a May 4 meeting. "That did leave a vacancy there at Cross Timbers. ... [We] had a very strong applicant pool. And at the end of that one of our very own elementary principals is left standing. And that is Jamie Halliburton."

Halliburton comes from Bransford Elementary School, where she served as principal for five years, according to the superintendent.

Her previous teaching experience includes in second, third, fifth and sixth grades, as well as an instructional specialist and assistant principal, according to the district.

Trustee Jorge Rodríguez signaled his support for Halliburton's appointment.

"[I've known] her for a long time," he said. "I'm very happy that she's been given this opportunity. She's done an amazing job at Bransford."
