Lance Groppel, Colleyville Heritage High School principal, has been named Grapevine-Colleyville ISD's executive director of instructional leadership for secondary campuses.

The board of trustees approved Groppel's appointment at an April 27 meeting.

“As the executive director of instructional leadership, Dr. Groppel will have the opportunity to grow and develop campus leaders across our secondary campuses,” GCISD Superintendent Robin Ryan said in a news release. “We are excited about his new role as it will allow his leadership to extend across the District.”

Groppel began teaching in 2006 and came on board as Colleyville Hertiage's principal in 2016, according to the district. His experience includes special education, health, U.S. history and coaching sports.

“I am grateful for my years at Colleyville Heritage High School and I am excited to work with all secondary campuses in GCISD to continue to have the BEST schools in Texas,” Groppel said in the release.
