Following a change order to close a construction contract, $24,298 will be released from the contract and returned to Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. Lee Lewis Construction has completed the mechanical renovations at Colleyville Heritage High School and Grapevine High School, per its 2016 bond program. Owner contingency funds, unspent contractor contingency funds in the contract and the unspent amount of an allowance for a roof repair at Colleyville Heritage High totaled $24,298, which will be returned to the district. This money will be placed in the 2016 bond program until all bond projects are complete. The GCISD board of trustees unanimously approved the change order April 29. Trustee Doug Noell noted that is about a 3% savings on what the board had approved in the budget for the project. With the approval, the construction contract has closed, and the work identified in the bond program for these two campuses is substantially complete. While this particular contract has closed, work continues at Grapevine High for upcoming renovations.
