Ponder said the school will be rebuilt as two stories, which, according to him, will often block the sun from his house. "It will be like living in an alleyway," he said. Ponder also said he and his neighbors were not involved in the planning process and wishes that their voices would have been heard. However, district officials are planning on moving ahead with the plans. Construction is expected to begin this summer.

At the meeting, trustees also heard an update on the Mustang-Panther Stadium renovations. Trustees learned that the renovations will be broken into two packages or phases. The first phase will begin this summer and will include all paving work and the new concession stands. The second phase will begin next year and will include scoreboard, bleachers and press box work. The grand opening of the newly renovated stadium is scheduled for Fall 2018.
