The details
During the Aug. 19 joint meeting with city council and the planning and zoning committee, a request for a restaurant and two single-family houses was approved. According to the presentation, the B-K Sizzle will offer a menu similar to Burger King, but will have ordering kiosks and a revamped dining experience inside.
The initial project received comments about building a commercial building being too close to Wall Street, according to previous reporting.
The revamped plan includes a 2,978-square-foot restaurant with a drive-through and rezoning the southern portion of the lot from highway commercial district to single-family district. The restaurant will be between Chicken Express and German Car Care.
The two residential lots will be 7,500 square feet and there will be a 146-foot buffer using a wooden fence between the backyards and the restaurant. The developer did not have a construction timeline for the start on either projects.
