Hoppin’ opened its doors early to offer a taste of its self-serve beers on tap and elevated bar menu during a preview event Oct. 10.

The details

Hoppin’ has a wall of taps with over 25 beer varieties and several wine and cocktail options, such as the “Hoppirita.”

The prices of the beers and other beverages are measured by the ounce and marked on each tap. Guests can pour as little or as much as they’d like by using a wristband, which is connected to a credit or debit card, and scanning it under a tap.

The location also has a full-service bar and a kitchen that serves specialty cocktails, burgers, flatbreads, pressed sandwiches, tacos and unique items such as Texas poutine, which is a bed of fries topped with queso, birria meat and a fried egg.

Quote of note

Blake Martin, one of three partners and the chef for Hoppin’ Grapevine, said Grapevine was perfect for its centralized location in Dallas-Fort Worth.

“We knew this is where we wanted our flagship to be,” Martin said. “We are actually going to open at least two more of these in the Metroplex, but we wanted No. 1 to be special.”

What else?

The Charlotte, North Carolina-based company is located inside the The Shops at Grapevine Mills Crossing shopping center. It’s the first Hoppin’ location to have a full food menu.

Martin said they are beginning the steps to expand the patio toward the end of the building. By the beginning of 2025, he hopes the patio will be reconfigured with a covered awning, industrial lighting and more seating to offer maximum outdoor space.
