When Matt and Lene Reynolds moved from Oahu, Hawaii, to Texas, they brought their shaved ice business with them.

Aloha Dreamers Shave Ice opened as a food truck in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in October 2022. They would park the food truck at school events, area athletic event, baby showers, weddings and near Grapevine Lake.

Now, there is a brick-and-mortar location in Grapevine at Chicken N Pickle.

“We like to educate our customers that shave ice is different than a snow cone," Matt Reynolds said. “And we import a few of our flavors from Hawaii because you can’t get here in Texas.”

The business, which is open Wednesday through Sunday, offers small and large shave ice, but also in a pineapple bowl. It also offer "local style" shaved ice that includes adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream and condensed or coconut milk. There are nearly 20 different flavors to chose to top the ice.
