Grapevine City Council approved a conditional use permit that would allow for the addition of seats and space to a restaurant inside the Gaylord Texan Hotel and Convention Center.

The permit approved during the Jan. 16 meeting will allow for the addition of a 76-seat glassed-in conservatory within the Old Hickory Steakhouse. Renovations are also set to take place within the restaurant, according to city documents.

Two-minute impact

Per city documents, the new conservatory inside Old Hickory Steakhouse will replace an existing patio area. Once the 76 seats are added to the restaurant, it will be able to accommodate nearly 370 diners.

In addition to the conservatory, there are plans to renovate the current main dining room and mini bar area. The applicant did not provide a timeline for when the renovations and conservatory will be completed.
