Famous Chicago-based eatery Portillo’s could open its doors in Grapevine later this year.

Brett Anz, principal at real estate developer TradeCor, which is overseeing the construction of five restaurants along SH 114, said the restaurant filed for a conditional-use permit with the city of Grapevine on Jan. 2. If approved, developers would move forward with initial plans to open in late 2024.

Portillo’s serves Chicago-style street food, including hot dogs, burgers and Italian beef sandwiches.
