Craft burgers and beers will soon be served in Grapevine.

Grapevine City Council approved zoning for Bohemian Bull in a 6-0 vote at its Oct. 18 meeting. The restaurant will be at 1112 W. Northwest Hwy., Grapevine, in the former Bo Bo China location.

Council approved the restaurant’s alcohol sales, outdoor seating and an existing pole sign to remain near the property. Outdoor speakers for the patio were also approved, but the sound must be turned off by 8 p.m. Mayor Pro Tem Darlene Freed and council members Paul Slechta, Chris Coy and Duff O’Dell discussed limiting the speaker’s hours to not disturb the surrounding neighborhood.

Based in Charleston, South Carolina, Bohemian Bull’s Grapevine location will be the first in Texas, with another location in Dallas opening later this year, according to Santos Martinez of La Sierra Planning Group.

During the meeting, owner Dennis Johnson said the restaurant will serve sandwiches, burgers and appetizers as well as beer from Grapevine's Hop and Sting Brewing Co.

“The quality of the food is outstanding,” Johnson said. “We hope to have a very fun, family-friendly atmosphere.”

Bohemian Bull does not have a set opening date, but Johnson said he hopes to be open during the holiday season.
