A woman drove her vehicle into Cafe Italia Tuesday morning.[/caption]

Cafe Italia is closed after a woman accidentally backed her car into the Italian restaurant Tuesday morning.

The restaurant, located at 2647 Ira E. Woods Ave., Grapevine, did sustain damage to the front of the building as well as inside.

Owner Nick Kreka said the woman suffers from a foot injury and was using one foot to press the gas and the brake, and she accidentally pushed the gas pedal instead of the brakes, which caused her car to go through the building.

Kreka said the restaurant is currently closed, but he hopes to reopen it by the weekend.

"I want to open back up as soon as possible," he said. "I hope by Friday I will be open again. It's never good to be closed for long."
