Hat Creek Development, based in Grapevine, is spearheading a 17-lot development called Villaggio.
The gated community sits on 37.5 acres on the corner of Dove Road and Pearson Lane, according to the town of Westlake's website.
Eason Maykus, president of Maykus Homes & Neighborhoods, said each lot will be an acre or larger.
There are three companies that are building houses in the development: Maykus Homes & Neighborhoods, WillowTree Custom Home and Calais Custom Homes.
