The details
The $1.12 million project was approved by city council Jan. 13 and is expected to open in the fall after eight-to-nine months of construction, Director of Parks and Recreation Chase Ellis said.
“I know people say that we do a lot of talking here and no action but guess what? In the last year we’ve done a lot of action and I’m very excited to be a continued process with the master plan," Parks and Recreation Board Chair Jennifer Kashner said.
"This is just the start of some amazing quality of life opportunities in the town.”
The backstory
The location of the pickleball courts will be behind the current tennis courts. Ellis noted that the bocce ball courts will be relocated due to the location of the pickleball courts.
It will be reduced from three courts to two, while a basketball court will be moved north of the bocce ball court.
