Southlake City Council awarded Green Scaping for the construction of Phase 1 of the Green Ribbon Project to add greenery to the intersection of SH 114 and Dove Road.

What you need to know

The project is estimated to cost $419,879, and the city will pay $19,879 out of its funds. The rest of the project will be paid for by the Texas Department of Transportation, according to city documents.

Phase 1 is expected to take 64 working days and will complete the entire south side of intersection between Dove Road and SH 114. Minimal traffic impacts are expected, per city documents.

The project


The plan is to plant ornamental grass, accent shrubs, evergreen shrubs and ornamental trees to improve the visual character of highway corridors and minimize the negative impacts of air pollution by planting trees and shrubs, according to city documents. Engineering and design for the project was done by Kimley-Horn.

The Green Ribbon Project is a TXDOT-reimbursable grant program dedicated to improving visual appearance of highway corridors. Southlake City Council approved the concept plan in 2023.
