Grapevine Station North, an 11-acre expansion to the original Grapevine Station development on the south side of SH 26, is set to receive new outdoor dining and a drive-through.

The Grapevine City Council unanimously approved the additions to Grapevine Station North during a Feb. 15 joint City Council-Planning and Zoning Commission meeting through a conditional use permit that allows the developer to construct a new 5,230-square-foot multi-tenant building, according to the city’s Feb. 15 agenda report.

According to a filing submitted to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the $800,000 construction on the new building is slated to begin March 15, with a completion date of Sept. 15. Restaurant franchise Tropical Smoothie Cafe will be the tenant utilizing the drive-through, according to a representative for the developer.

The final approval of the conditional use permit came after a public hearing on the item and subsequent approval by the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission. The commission recessed to a separate meeting to make recommendations on the permit while the City Council held public comment and approved its consent agenda. A representative from the Planning and Zoning Commission then returned and relayed the recommendations to the City Council before council members gave the final green light to the permit.

The approval of the new building comes after Grapevine Station North opened new businesses last year, including Texas Best Smokehouse and Texaco C Store.
