Tarrant County Public Health is planning to reopen vaccination sites Feb. 19 after closing all four sites due to severe winter conditions, according to social media posts.

The health department announced that people who were scheduled for a vaccine appointment this week will receive either a call, email or text message with a new appointment slot. People must have an appointment to get vaccinated. The Tarrant County Resource Connection site will not open Feb. 19, as stated on Tarrant County's Facebook page.

The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines both require two doses to be effective. The second Moderna dose must be taken 28 days after the initial shot, and the second Pfizer dose must be taken 21 days after.

As of Feb. 16, 261,829 coronavirus vaccines have been administered in Tarrant County.
