The Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine presents its 16th annual SummerFest event, which takes place from May 11-Sept. 2.

This year’s theme features “The Adventures of Peter Pan” with several different family-friendly events, according to an April 15 news release from the Gaylord Texan Resort.

Resort visitors can enjoy themed activities such as Hook’s Scavenger Hunt, the “Never Grow Up” art trail, a video mapping show of Neverland and the “Second Star to the Right” selfie tour, according to the news release.

Families can also test their skills in one or both of the resort’s escape rooms during SummerFest: Escape to Neverland and Pirate's Revenge. And in the "Wendy’s Journey to Neverland" interactive adventure, guests participate in guided activities and photo opportunities.

Other summer programs include dance parties, junior chefs camp for children, bourbon tastings, happy hours, spa specials and wine and cheese pairings, according to the news release. The resort also includes Paradise Springs, a 10-acre outdoor water park that features a tree house, lazy river, winding waterslides and 6,000-square-foot family lagoon. Private cabanas will be available for rent, providing shade, seating, televisions and refrigerators.
