The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department will get new vehicles after the commissioners court approved various contracts to purchase full-sized trucks during the Jan. 17 meeting.

A total of 199 vendors were contacted and requested to participate in the bid process and six companies submitted options. The county document lists individual costs for each truck. The 12 trucks the county would purchase total $632,075, per the documents. The orders would be placed on an as-needed basis, according to the documents.

Winning bids came from Sewell Family of Dealerships in Odessa, Randall Reed’s Planet Ford in Garland, Southwest Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Cleburne, Caldwell Country Chevrolet, Cameron Country Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Caldwell and Rockdale Country Ford.

Grapevine Dodge Chrysler Jeep submitted a no-bid response.

The delivery timetable ranges from 180 to 360 days.


The new trucks include eight 2023 Ford F250, two 2024 Ram 2500 and two 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
