A new sign, stylized as a vintage split-flap design seen in railway stations, will be built near Grapevine Main Station.

Grapevine City Council unanimously approved the monument sign at its Jan. 17 meeting. It will be located near Grapevine Main along East Dallas Road. Planning Services Director Erica Marohnic said the sign will be 6 feet tall and 10 feet wide.

Mitch Johnson, director of operations at Harvest Hall, said the sign will have changeable copy and will be double sided. The sign will be digital, but he said it will operate as a split-flap display with changing numbers and letters similar to ones used in train stations. The sign will also be constructed with red brick similar to Grapevine Main.

Tina Newton, Grapevine Main’s director of facilities, said the sign will display information about the restaurants in Harvest Hall or events happening in the building.

Grapevine Main Station was constructed as part of the TEXRail commuter rail project and houses Hotel Vin, Harvest Hall and the music venue Third Rail.
