The Texas Association of School Administrators chose the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD board of trustees as the 2018 Outstanding School Board at Saturday’s TASA/Texas Association of School Boards conference in Austin. A committee of Texas school superintendents selected the GCISD school board among five finalists based on the board’s commitment to priorities, such as academic performance, educational improvement projects, ethical practices and student welfare, according to a TASA news release. The committee also recognized the board for promoting a culture of student advocacy and personal learning. “The leadership our board provides makes a positive difference in GCISD,” Superintendent Robin Ryan said in the news release. “They have a shared vision and encourage us all to step out of our comfort zones to personalize education for every student. They take roadblocks out of the paths of our excellent staff so beneficial changes can be made.”
