Independent Bank in Grapevine has been renamed SouthState Bank following a merger last year.

The details

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Aug. 19 by the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce for the new bank.

SouthState Bank offers personal checking accounts, small business loans, commercial banking, treasury management, mortgage loans, refinancing, wealth management and a 24-hour ATM, according to its website.

Branch manager Sharon McCall said there will be a customer appreciation event Oct. 24 and a pop-up business event Nov. 7 at the location.


The name change comes more than a year after SouthState Bank acquired Independent Bank for $2 billion in May 2024, according to a news release.

The background

The Winter Haven, Florida-based bank has more than 1 million customers across Florida, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, according to its website.

Texas locations include Granbury, Burleson, Fort Worth, Cleburne, Highland Village and Coppell.
