Riley Private Client, a Southlake wealth management firm, is now EP Wealth Advisors after the company was acquired in a transaction Nov. 4, according to a news release.

This will be the third location in Texas for the Torrance, California-based company. The other two locations are in Dallas.

The backstory

Riley Private Client has been run by Doug Jones since 2022 after the passing of founder Billy Riley, who was a Colleyville resident. Jones will take the role of vice president and advisor in the merger, according to the release.

“Our team is excited to continue as part of EP Wealth and build on the legacy of Riley Private Client,” Jones said. “Our familiarity with the former Sloan [Investment Management] team strengthened our confidence we have in partnering with a firm like EP.”

What else?

EP Wealth now manages more than $1.2 billion in assets in the North Texas region, according to the release.

“This partnership brings enhanced capabilities and resources to benefit our clients, including expanded tax and estate planning services,” the news release states. “Existing clients will continue to receive personalized, one-to-one guidance from their trusted advisor.”
