Gashapon has opened it second official store in Texas inside Grapevine Mills Mall.

The backstory

Gashapon is a capsule toy brand from Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles that sells its goods through vending machines. The brand was launched in 1977 and the name is derived from two Japanese onomatopoeias: gasha is the sound turning a vending machine handle makes and pon is the sound of the capsule landing in the tray, according to the company website.

Gashapon offers a wide variety of toys such as anime figures, food miniatures, animal replicas, stationeries and accessories. It is $2 for one token.

What else?

Following the latest trends in Japan, Gashapon releases new items every month. Some of the new items include Harry Potter miniatures, Kirby, My Hero Academia, Tamagotchi, Tom & Jerry, Minecraft and Hello Kitty, according to the website.

The only other official store in Texas is in Plano. This location was formerly occupied by Toddler Motors.
