Trinity Metro's commuter rail service TEXRail celebrated five years of operations Jan. 10.

TEXRail opened with nine stops, including the Grapevine Main Street station, in January 2019, Trinity Metro Director of Communications Laura Hanna said in an email.

One of the ways TEXRail is celebrating this occasion is holding a "Name That Train" contest. Submission guidelines can be found at www.ridetrinitymetro.org/namethattrain. Entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. Jan. 31.

“In Grapevine, $105 million in transit-oriented development included Hotel Vin, Harvest Hall and a public parking garage,” a TEXRail news release states. “Grapevine has seen increases in hotel occupancy, beverage and retail sales taxes since TEXRail opened.”
