The Rec of Grapevine's aquatic center closed Jan. 8 for improvements to the pool, hot tub and sauna.

Marketing Manager April Rogers said the project will take between six to eight weeks. The estimated cost is $297,669, and the contract was awarded to Sunbelt Pools Inc. of Dallas. Renovations include:
  • Replastering the pool
  • Replastering the hot tub
  • Installing a new heater for the sauna
  • Deep cleaning aquatic accessories
This is the first work done on the pool since an acid wash was performed in spring 2020. Rogers said that extended the life of the plaster beyond its 10 years of normal life. The recreation center opened in 2015.
