A San Antonio-based gasoline storage facility will expand its Southlake location after council approved a special-use permit during the Dec. 5 meeting.

NuStar Energy requested the addition of a 1,250-barrel transmix tank that will be 40 feet tall and 15 feet wide. According to its website, there are currently 14 tanks at the location with a total capacity of 583,000 barrels—a mix of gasoline, diesel and ethanol fuel. The location originally was approve to store fuel June 11, 1990, and added additional tanks in 1996, according to city documents. No timetable for the construction of the new tank was stated.
