Cynthia and Ritchy Ekolo took ownership of the spa franchise in January, according to a press release. Natives of the Republic of Congo, the couple both moved to the United States with their respective families in the early 2000s. After meeting in a small church and marrying in 2016, they began a new opportunity in business ownership, the release stated.
Their small business empire includes a trucking company and financial consulting firm. After the COVID-19 pandemic began, they were inspired to take on a new business—MassageLuXe.
“The pandemic has been a stressful and anxious time for everyone,” Cynthia said in the release. “We realized the importance of self-care and how beneficial it is to our overall physical and mental health. So, we decided to open a business focused on health and wellness that could enhance the lives of the people in our community.”
MassageLuxe offers several massage services, including reflexology, trigger point and deep tissue. Along with massages, the spa features facial and waxing services, according to its website. The spa is located at 500 W. Southlake Blvd., Ste. 106.
