The Grapevine Chamber of Commerce is one of 38 accredited chambers in the state, with 21 of those reaching a five-star status, according to a chamber press release. Out of 7,000 chambers in the United States, only 125 have a five-star accreditation, the release said.
RaDonna Hessel, CEO of the Grapevine Chamber, said the accreditation serves to recognize the everyday work done by businesses who "support, lead and guide" the chamber.
"Our members, board of directors, staff and community partners are all a part of the team that works together to collaborate, communicate, connect and advocate for business that adds value for our community," Hessel said in the release.
"To have this recognition come after the year of COVID-19 makes it an even greater testament to the power of our Chamber," she said.
In order to be nationally accredited for effective procedures and community involvement, a chamber of commerce must meet minimum standards in its operations and programs, including areas of governance, government affairs and technology. This self-review can take six to nine months to complete.
