The date for next year's event has not been decided, said Hailey Waldon, community relations and events specialist for the city. She provided an update during a work session prior to the Colleyville City Council meeting Aug. 20.
The conditions
Each year, the city brings in a country music singer to perform prior to a fireworks show. This past summer, Rhett Akins performed and Daryl Worley sang at the 2023 event.
The next Stars and Guitar lineup hasn’t been decided yet, but Waldon provided options for the city to book. Some of the singers or bands were unavailable during the time frame the city is looking at in June 2025, she said.
“We can’t compete with the casinos,” Colleyville city manager Jerry Ducay quipped.
What else?
Due to the construction of Heroes Park, next to city hall, the concert for 2025 will be moved to an adjacent baseball field, according to city officials.
Mayor Bobby Lindamood said the 2026 event is planned to be held at Heroes Park.
