Meow Wolf Grapevine will soon have an exterior mural thanks to a collaboration with local artist Lauren Lewchuk.

The project is called PARKED, abbreviated for Phenomenal Asphalt Realm of Kaleidoscopic Expressionistic Design, according to a news release. It will be unveiled May 27 at Grapevine Mills.

"We're thrilled to collaborate with Lauren Lewchuk on this original project that brings The Real Unreal to life beyond our exhibition space,” Meow Wolf Grapevine General Manager Kelly Schwartz said in a news release. “This mural is a celebration of creativity and community, inviting visitors to experience a piece of Meow Wolf's magic from the moment they arrive at Grapevine Mills all summer long."

Meow Wolf Grapevine will celebrate its first anniversary on July 14.

The details

The mural will be adjacent to Meow Wolf Grapevine and feature a "cavalcade of blooming creations," according to the news release. The Dallas-based artist is self-taught, according to her website. Her background has included mural painting, screen-printing, faux finishes and graphic design.

Quote of note

"Incorporating inspiration from the natural world, I explore themes of growth, identity, and existentialism in my artwork," Lewchuk said in a news release. "Turning a parking lot into a colorful canvas is a perfect way to vividly showcase these themes."
