Dino Hunt
Open to children of all ages, the event begins with a dinosaur “fossil” hunt along the trails and wraps up with dinosaur crafts. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 1-2:30 p.m. $15. Bob Jones Nature Center, 355 E. Bob Jones Road, Southlake. 817-491-6333. www.bjnc.org

SPIN! Around the Square
The event gives children ages 4-12 and their families an opportunity to learn about the importance of proper bike safety and put it into practice with two different bike rides lead by the Blazing Saddles Bike Team. Participants are asked to bring their own bikes to go through safety stations for helmet fittings, brake and tire checks and lighting installations.
Younger children's riding course is within the parking lot and the older children's course is throughout Southlake Town Square.
The festivities also include a helmet decorating station and opportunities to meet costumed superheroes. Southlake Superhero 5K & Fun Run
The city of Southlake hosts the chip-timed 5K and fun run for runners and walkers of all ages. Following the race, there is an awards ceremony, a concert, food vendors and activities. 7:30-8:30 a.m. (race day registration), 8:30 a.m. (fun run start), 9 a.m. (5K start), 10 a.m. (awards ceremony), 10:30 a.m. (concert). $20 (fun run), $30 (5K). Clean Sweep
The annual event offers residents a one-stop drop-off event with five stations: The Crud Cruiser, electronics recycling, document shredding, bulk and brush trash and Keep Colleyville Beautiful. Residents need to bring a current driver’s license as proof of residency or a recent water bill with a driver’s license that matches the name on the water bill. 9-11 a.m. Free (for Colleyville residents with proof of residency).
