According to a news release, the three-year contract between Air India and Grapevine-based Menzies Aviation is for delivering cargo warehouse services in four locations, including Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. The others are Melbourne Airport, Sydney Airport in Australia and Kuwait International Airport.
Teams at the four locations will handle approximately 9,000 tons of cargo in the first 12 months of the new agreement, according to the news release.
In addition, Menzies Aviation announced there are contracts with five other airports for passenger, ramp, de-icing and cleaning services.
“We’re excited to enter a new chapter in our relationship with Air India, expanding our footprint right across the globe,” Menzies Aviation CEO Philipp Joeinig said in a news release. “This latest win underscores the progress we are making on our ambitious growth plans and reflects the safe, secure and high-quality services that we offer our customers. We look forward to building our relationship with Air India, providing exceptional aviation services to its growing number of passengers over the next three years.”
What else?
Air India offers passenger and cargo flights, according to its website. The airline now has connecting flights to DFW Airport from Newark, New Jersey or New York City, which started in January.
