The southbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway bridge over US 380 are now open to traffic, according to an announcement from North Texas Tollway Authority.

The southbound lanes are located on the newly constructed Dallas North Tollway bridge, which passes over US 380. The tollway is a 32-mile road between downtown Dallas and US 380 in Frisco.

The northbound lanes of the bridge have yet to open but are expected to reopen to drivers “in a matter of weeks,” according to NTTA’s Facebook post. The northbound bridge is still an active work zone.

“We are working diligently to open the northbound lanes,” NTTA’s Media Relations Manager Michael Rey said. “We always encourage drivers to avoid distractions, pay attention to signage and drive safely on all of our roads.”

No additional roads will be closed due to the opening of the tollway’s southbound lanes, Rey said.
