Frisco’s resident baseball team, the Frisco RoughRiders, is turning 20 years old.

Known as the Shreveport Swamp Dragons before moving to Texas, the minor league baseball team played its first-ever home game at Riders Field, located at 7300 RoughRiders Trail, Frisco, on April 3, 2003.

The RoughRiders were originally owned by Mandalay Baseball Properties LLC for its first 12 years in Frisco before it was purchased by new owners in 2014. The team’s field, which also saw more than one name and owner, is celebrating its 20th anniversary alongside the RoughRiders.
