The Dallas Stars' practice facility will now be named the Comerica Center, according to a news release from the National Hockey League team.
The Stars and Comerica Bank announced the renaming of Dr Pepper Arena last week. The agreement includes an extension of Comerica Bank's partnership through the 2023-24 NHL season.
"Comerica Bank has supported the Stars for many years, and it was an obvious choice to approach them when the opportunity arose to find a new naming-rights partner for our Frisco campus," Dallas Stars CEO Jim Lites said in a statement. "We wanted a company that was aligned with the mission and values of the Stars organization, and Comerica Bank checked all of those boxes."
The Comerica Center is a multipurpose sports and entertainment venue that seats up to 6,000 people. Along with being the Stars' practice facility, the arena is home to the Texas Legends, the NBA Development League team for the Dallas Mavericks. The facility also hosts the corporate offices of the Stars.
The arena underwent renovations in 2018 that included the addition of a new concessionaire, Ryan Sanders Sports.
