The Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission approved a site plan for renovations on Shepherds Glen Park during a Sept. 27 meeting

A 2019-20 study of the 13.3-acre park at 12012 Shepherds Hill Drive identified a need for reinvestment and improvement, according to the city website. Planned improvements to the park include a larger splash pad area, larger playground elements, new parking areas and pedestrian paths.

The site plan includes proposed features such as another parking lot with 12 extra parking spaces, an inclusive play area, a water play area, a bike repair station and site furnishings.

The Shepherds Glen reinvestment project has a projected budget of $3.3 million funded by the city's capital projects budget, according to a city capital projects report dated in September. Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2023.
