An upcoming 5.7-acre park located near the intersection of the Dallas North Tollway and Warren Parkway has a new name and a park foundation, according to a Communities Foundation of Texas news release.

Kaleidoscope Park, located within the Hall Park office district in Frisco, is slated to open in late 2023, according to the news release. The park will feature free year-round public programming including weekly films and concerts, fitness and well-being activities, and performances.

The park’s design will feature amenities including:

  • a performance pavilion;

  • a children’s play area;

  • a dog park;

  • gardens;

  • Water features;

  • Wi-Fi-equipped technology terraces; and

  • public art, including a permanent installation by award-winning fabric artist Janet Echelman.

Kaleidoscope Park’s programming, operations and maintenance will be overseen and supported by the newly announced Kaleidoscope Park Foundation, a nonprofit partner of Communities Foundation of Texas, according to the release. The park is owned by the city of Frisco.

The foundation’s board of directors was also announced and includes Frisco City Manager Wes Pierson, Hall Group representatives and former Texas senator and Plano resident Florence Shapiro, among others.

The new park is the result of a public-private partnership between Frisco and Hall Group and is among several projects that comprise a $7 billion plan to redevelop the office district over the next 20 years. The park is expected to open in fall 2023 alongside several other projects including an office tower, a 154-room hotel and a 19-story luxury residential tower.

“We’re excited to start enjoying Kaleidoscope Park and all its creative programming possibilities,” Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney said in a statement. “It will be a premier gathering place where people can enjoy all sorts of arts and wellness activities. It’s bound to become a favorite among residents and visitors alike, whether they’re meeting up with friends and family or making new connections in the heart of Hall Park.”
