After Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney was elected in May, he pinpointed Grand Park as a priority for the city. Grand Park is a 350-acre master-planned regional park in Frisco.
The city submitted a permit to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to build a lake feature within the park in 2011. The permit underwent a public comment period, which ended in November. Now the city is waiting to hear if the permit has been approved.
If approved, Cheney said he has set a goal to break ground on the first phase of development in 2018.
