More than 15 million Texas residents registered to vote this election, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s office, a record figure and a 5 percent increase from the primaries earlier this year. In total, about 78 percent of voting-age Texans are eligible to vote between now and Nov. 8, Election Day.

Many Frisco-area voters wasted no time casting ballots, participating Monday in the first day of early voting, which runs through Nov. 4. Collin County alone received 31,283 ballots, and Denton County recorded 16,955 early votes—not counting mail-in and limited ballots.

The Collin College Preston Ridge campus in Frisco was the fifth-most popular location for Collin County voters with 1,590 votes cast Monday, and 1,742 Frisco voters who live on the Denton County side of the city visited the polls.
