Foodies can look forward to six new restaurants coming to Frisco.

Birdcall

Denver-based Chicken restaurant Birdcall is coming to Frisco at 5350 Preston Road. The company is opening in a space formerly occupied by Taco Cabana, which closed in January 2020, according to a previous Community Impact Newspaper report. The 2,800-square-foot Birdcall location in the Preston Lebanon Crossing is a part of its expansion into the Dallas market with locations confirmed in Plano at Willow Bend, Frisco and Lakeridge near The Colony. The company, which was founded in Colorado in 2016, plans to renovate the building to fit its brand. Birdcall serves chicken sandwiches, salads and tenders all made from natural ingredients. Birdcall did not provide an expected opening date of the Frisco location, but according to a permit registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, construction of the restaurant is slated for completion in October. www.eatbirdcall.com

Bojangles

Fried chicken chain Bojangles plans to open its first two Texas restaurants in Frisco, according to a company spokesperson. Bojangles' first location in the state will be located at 1631 US 380, Frisco, Senior Director of Communications Stacey McCray said. The location is slated to open by the end of the year in the Frisco Crossing development on US 380. Bojangles joins restaurants, such as Chipotle, Torchy’s Tacos and Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, in the development, according to a flier from Venture Commercial, the real estate broker for the property. The second location in Texas will be located at 2821 Eldorado Parkway, Frisco. The location is slated to open in early 2023 in West Frisco, according to McCray. According to a permit registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, construction of the restaurant will cost approximately $900,000 and will be 2,989 square feet. www.bojangles.com


Bonchon

Korean fried chicken restaurant Bonchon is close to opening. The company announced its newest location will open June 20 in the Frisco Village Shopping Center, located at 4760 Preston Road, Ste. 228, Frisco. The first 100 people in line on opening day will receive a free, five-piece chicken meal and Bonchon’s signature “double-fried” T-shirt, according to a news release. Another grand opening celebration will include donating 15% of sales to Frisco Family Services for the week of June 27. The organization helps Frisco residents experiencing food insecurity and homelessness. In addition to hand-battered chicken, the restaurant serves popcorn shrimp, Korean tacos, potstickers, edamame and more. The Frisco opening marks Bonchon’s third DFW location, according to the release. Nearby restaurants include Addison and The Colony. Bonchon in Frisco will be the first location to offer pickup boxes, per the release. www.bonchon.com

Caffe Baonecci

Tricky Fish

Tricky Fish, a “polished-casual” Southern seafood restaurant, is opening its fourth DFW location this fall at 6675 Cowboys Way, Ste. 1305, Frisco. The menu will feature a daily selection of fresh seafood dishes in addition to salads, sandwiches, and craft cocktails and beer. www.tricky-fish.com
