Site plans for the roughly $265 million project have been approved, putting the new Baylor Scott & White Health center on track to open in two years.

Planning and Zoning Commission members approved a site plan for the center during their July 25 meeting.

Site plan details include two hospital buildings, one parking garage and one central utility plant split between two lots located on a 37.1-acre northeast corner of Dallas Parkway and PGA Parkway, according to meeting documents.

“This region is one of the fastest growing in the country, and we have been exploring for many months how to keep pace with the area's explosive growth,” Baylor Scott & White Health officials said in a statement.

What we know

A request to rezone the land for a hospital first appeared on the commission's agenda in June 2022 and was later approved by City Council at a July 5, 2022, meeting.

“Obviously, any time we can get expansion of medical uses in this capacity, it is always a big win for the citizens of Frisco and the region,” Mayor Jeff Cheney said in 2022.

Baylor Scott & White Health has some Frisco-based facilities already, including a sports medicine facility at The Star, a medical center on Warren Parkway and another medical center on Lebanon Road.

A project listing on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation website in January 2023 estimated the new facility would be completed by mid-2025.

“We are developing a campus at the corner of Dallas North Tollway and PGA Parkway that will open mid-2025 and can continue to expand to meet community needs,” Baylor Scott & White officials said. “We appreciate the city of Frisco's support, and we look forward to sharing more when details are finalized.”
