The Level III trauma hospital on Frisco Square Boulevard is aiming to add a new patient tower that would connect to the existing hospital’s north side and provide additional capacity for the ICU, neurosurgery, spine care and orthopedics, according to a hospital official.
However, the project is still pending city approval. Open space and preliminary site plans were submitted to the Frisco Planning & Zoning Commission on March 16 but were denied at a May 12 meeting for failing to meet city ordinances and standards.
Groundbreaking for the 77,000-square-foot tower is planned for summer 2021, per Medical City Frisco officials.
