Toyota Stadium is set for another round of upgrades.
At their April 21 meeting, Frisco City Council members unanimously approved an agreement for more than $9 million towards renovations of Toyota Stadium. The funding comes from the Community Development Corporation.
The additional renovations, totaling $9.26 million, will include seating bowl remediation and stadium Wi-Fi improvements, according to city documents.
The public share of the renovations totals nearly $5.46 million, while Toyota Stadium’s share will total around $3.81 million, per city documents.
The gist
Toyota Stadium is currently undergoing $182 million worth of renovations, including adding more than 3,400 seats, new sports lighting and luxury suites.
Construction on the improvements began in March 2025, according to a FC Dallas news release. Renovations on the stadium are being completed in phases, with the final phase expected to wrap up in 2028.

Frisco is set to serve as the home base for Sweden during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, using Toyota Stadium as the team’s training facility.
Sweden secured its spot in the tournament with a 3-2 win over Poland in the Union of European Football Associations Path B playoff final March 31, according to a FC Dallas news release.
A FC Dallas spokesperson said previously construction will pause while the stadium is hosting Sweden for their training facility and resume after summer.
