Upcoming project
SH 170 spur
Project: The project, which was first presented in 2024, would connect Intermodal Parkway in the AllianceTexas to Old Denton Road. A new elevated bridge, 1.4 miles in length, would be constructed from the main lanes east of I-35W to Intermodal Parkway, with associated roadway on either side, for a total project of 2.4 miles. Nearly 10 additional acres would need to be purchased to construct the road, but no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time, according to TxDOT.
Update: Public hearings for the project were held in person and virtually July 28 to gather public input. Schematic design and environmental work would start in the spring of 2027, according to a news release.

Ongoing projects
North Walnut Street
Project: Crews are constructing a new concrete street with curb and gutter drainage improvements. Sidewalks and street lighting from Byron Nelson Boulevard to North Oak Street will also be installed. Storm drainage improvements will occur along Lois Street, as well.
Update: McMahon Contracting, a construction company, has poured the concrete roadway from Lois Street to North Oak Street. Sidewalk construction in that area will start the week of Aug. 10, according to a Roanoke Public Works Department spokesperson. Storm drain installation on North Walnut Street, from Lois Street to North Oak Street, is also underway.

FM 1938 median project
Project: The work on FM 1938 in Keller includes converting the two-way left-turn lane into a 14-foot-wide raised median. At the intersections with median breaks, the median will be reduced to 2 feet wide, and a 12-foot-wide left-turn lane will be created. The project will be from Southlake Boulevard to Emerald Hills Way, and the lane configuration will not change. Additionally, the road from FM 1709 to Starnes Road will be reconstructed.
Update: The Keller portion of the work concluded in July, according to a TxDOT spokesperson. The remainder of the work is in North Richland Hills.
