Collin College to celebrate 40th anniversary with events in McKinney, Celina
Collin College will surpass 40 years since its inception in April, and college officials are planning events to mark the occasion. Two community events are planned to be held in April to celebrate the anniversary of the college, including a music festival and a carnival. Both events are free and open to the public.
3 projects under construction at Buc-ee's in Fort Worth
Buc-ee's has two projects underway inside and another outside its Fort Worth location, including a new tortilla maker and car wash. The mega convenience store is also installing a new whole-store backup generator.
Plano road closures planned for DART Silver Line construction
Improvements will be taking place where the railway intersects with President George Bush Turnpike, K Avenue, Municipal Avenue and Shiloh Road. The DART Silver Line is a $1.8 billion, 26-mile commuter rail that will connect Plano to the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, and is expected to be operational in late 2025 or early 2026.
Grapevine council approves annual funding for regional SWAT force
The regional SWAT force operates in Euless, Bedford, Hurst and Grapevine. Each city provides up to $19,000 annually for the Northeast Tarrant County Area SWAT Team's budget which covers training, equipment and operating costs.
Zipline expected to open drone maintenance center in Richardson
Zipline Drone and Delivery is expected to open a drone maintenance center in Richardson, pending approvals from the city planning commission and city council. The business works with third-parties, such as Walmart, to offer drove delivery services for customers.
