The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex has seen a mix of precipitation, including snow, sleet and frozen rain, as temperatures dropped and a winter storm warning was issued for Collin and Denton counties.

The winter weather caused multiple city facilities and services to be temporarily unavailable, including the city's trash pick up routes. With temperatures expected to improve, here is what Frisco residents need to know going into the next week.

The details

Residents will see a modified pickup schedule to accommodate the missed collections from Jan. 9-10 starting on Jan. 11 and into the following week, according to a city news release. Here is what that will look like:
  • Jan. 11: remaining Thursday routes collected
  • Jan. 13: Friday routes collected
  • Jan 14-18: Monday through Friday collection is picked up one day later
The schedule is similar to the city’s holiday pickup schedule, according to the release. For example, residents who typically have their trash picked up on Monday will instead be serviced on Tuesday.

Bulk pick up will follow the same schedule.
