Some Frisco city services and facilities are temporarily unavailable or closed as a winter storm continues to sweep through North Texas.

A winter storm warning is in effect for Collin and Denton counties. Multiple city services and facilities closed Jan. 9 due to the weather, including the Environmental Services Center, the Frisco Athletic Center, the library and the Frisco Municipal Court.

As of 3:30 p.m. Jan. 9, many of the city’s facilities are expected to reopen Jan. 10, according to the city’s website.The Discovery Center, Heritage Center, Collin County Tax office inside the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center and the Grove at Frisco Commons are all expected to remain closed Jan. 10, according to the city’s website.

All Frisco ISD schools will also be closed Jan. 10 due to the weather, according to a district update.


One more thing

Some of the city’s Jan. 9 trash pickup routes were completed but the trucks were pulled out of service at 9:30 a.m., according to the Frisco Environmental Services website. As of 3:30 p.m., a decision about service on Jan. 10 and the plan for any missed collection has not been announced.

The Frisco Municipal Court has adjusted its services due to the weather, according to a city news release.
  • Any payments or court requirements due on Jan. 9-10 will be accepted as 'on-time' if received by 4:30 p.m. Jan. 13
  • Mandatory court appearances and dockets for Jan. 9-10 will be rescheduled
