The city of Frisco’s population grew and became more diverse over the last five years, according to newly released U.S. Census data.

The U.S. Census Bureau released new five-year data for 2023 on Dec. 12 as part of its American Community Survey, or ACS. The new data represents a five-year estimate of the population across the country from 2019 to 2023, according to the Census website.

The details

Frisco’s population grew from approximately 177,020 to 210,238 between 2019-23, a 12.22% increase, according to the ACS data. Over the same time frame, Collin County’s population grew by 15.52% and Denton County’s population grew by 13.58%.

Demographically, people who identified themselves as only white made up 46.8% of Frisco’s population in 2023, which is a decrease compared to the 60.7% who identified as only white in 2019.

One of the largest demographic shifts came from people who identified as two or more races, which made up roughly 6,500 people, or 3.2%, in 2019. The 2023 results show that people who identify as two or more races made up around 26,300 people, or 11.7%, of the population.
