Multiple Frisco facilities, including the library, will close July 4 to observe—and celebrate—Independence Day, according to a June 26 news release.

Two-minute impact

Here are all of city facilities that will be closed for Independence Day:
  • George A. Purefoy Municipal Center and its administrative offices
  • Frisco Fire Safety Town
  • Central Fire Administration
  • Frisco Municipal Court
  • Frisco Heritage Museum
  • Frisco Discovery Center
  • The Grove at Frisco Commons
  • Environmental Services office
  • Environmental Collection Center
The public library and its connection inside the Stonebriar Center will also be closed July 4, but the drive-thru book return will stay open, according to the release.

The Frisco Athletic Center will be open but will operate under holiday hours:
  • General facility: 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Frisco Water Park: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
What else?

Recycling and trash collection will also see a schedule change with services pushed back one day, according to the release.

For example, if a resident’s service day is Thursday, the refuse will be collected Friday instead. If a resident’s service day is Friday, it will be collected Saturday. There should be no change to residents with a Wednesday service day.

All services will resume their normal schedules on June 8.
