The Frisco Public Library could see new parking spaces added in the near future.

Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission members unanimously approved a site plan for additional library parking during a May 28 meeting.

The proposed plan would add 140 paved temporary parking spaces to the currently 425-space lot, according to meeting documents. There was no discussion on how long the parking would be available.

Zooming out

The Frisco Public Library has seen record turnout since the grand opening of its new 8000 Dallas Parkway location in March 2023. Attendance has slightly slowed since its opening—over 94,000 residents came to the library in March 2024 and over 100,000 in March 2023, according to city data.

In comparison, roughly 9,000 residents visited the library in February 2023—one month before the new location opened—and over 10 times as many in February 2024, according to city data.
